Moonroof needs a push to open, solutions?
I own a 94 Si. My mother owns a 93 Si and so does one of my friends. All of the vehicles have the same problem with the moonroofs. The driver's side of the glass is not going up. If you push it up, it works fine from there. Now I've rebuilt my motor, replaced my cables, and completely disassembled, reassembled, and lubricated the moonroof assembly, but it still has the problem. Since it seems a common problem, I was hoping someone had come up with a solution for it. I'm all out of ideas, and my roof is getting scratched
I'm sorry. When I said I lubricated the moonroof assembly, I meant I lubricated every single mechanical moving piece that's attached to the assembly while I was disassembling and reassembling it. Yes. Lots of fun.
mine does the same thing. I sprayed some lithium grease on the rails and it seemed to get better for a little while, then it started sticking again. If it is wicked hot out it wownt stick.
old thread, but just so everyone knows, it's probably getting stuck from the rubber molding sticking to the car frame as the glass rise... what i dd was put some lithium grease on the car frame, the painted sides and wahla, moon roof doesn't stick anymore.

in cold weather my car does this, but in hot weathers my moonroof is full of power. A little boost doesn't hurt it, but I'll try the wd40 method and lithium grease if the wd40 doesn't work.
