ok im drivin along and all of a sudden the car starts slowin itself down. im like WTF! so i pull over and try to start it. it turns over but wont start. i had a bad back bearing on the alternator so i thought that the bearing lockled up or sumthin but i dont know. can u plz help me i need the car to go to school. also i was thinkin the dizzy but i dont know. plz help. LATER!

also i was thinking it could be the alternator becuz it maybe it wasnt charging the battery and so it died and wouldnt start. or am i freakin retarded. that could be.

 

but if the car turns over then its not the battery unless it turns really really slow,

i bet its something to do with spark
check for spark

Probably dizzy, igniter or coil.

 

how much do dizzys run? also where is the ignitor? sry if that sounds dumb

 

Dizzy is like $260, igniter is $75, and a coil is around $70. The igniter is a little black box in the dizzy, it has all the wires running into it.

 

should i check for like bad wire connections or is the thing just goin to be bad without me knowing for sure?

 

ok i just tried to start it again becuz for some weird reason i was goin to see if maybe teh problem went away. well it turns over but it turns over slow. also i still think it would be the alternator bcuz it was goin bad and i dont think that the battery has enough charge to start it btu enough for it to turn over. cuz like the day b4 it broke down. all teh lights and stuff in my car got dim. well if any of taht helps. plz help me get it running by the end of the weekend. Yes it would, it would stop charging the battery.

Sounds like your alternator is bad if its turning over slow, disregard the dizzy topic. Take it off and go get it tested at auto zone. They will tell you if its good or bad.

ok got the alternator unattached but cant get it out of teh car. wat do i do i cant take it out of the top or bottom. what do i do? the axel is in the way ou the bottom and the master cylender is in the way out the top?

 

to take it out i believe you can just push it out to the passenger side of the car and pull it out through there. i think thats the easiest way.... otherwise you have to take of the intake mani.

 

it should squezze through the bottom you have mess with it awhile and it hard to do with out removing the axle but its possible

 

if i took teh oil filter off would that help bcuz i could just chang that n e way? it hits that other wise it could fit through the gap from teh crossmember to the block
