rust issue
First off. I know. rust=cancer.
I'm just looking to slow the process. Does that rust killing jelly do any good. as far as halting rust progress. Keep in mind this car will likely not see any more winter salt.

trying to slow rust is like try to put off your own execution till the afternoon. remove the rust....take it to a body shop or you can go for a do-it-yourself job, with a sander, some paint and a few other essential stuff
if the rust isn't THAT bad try this. on a nice dry sunny day with low humidity take wd40 and try to wipe some of that rust off. after the wd40 dries off apply some touch up paint to that area. that should help.
dude !!!.....would you use super glue to attach your wheels to you car?...if so, then go ahead and PAIN RUST.....
no bad vibes intended..just getting my idea across

well what hes talking about is surface rust, and if that comes off, you can protect the metal from future rust by painting it, and thereby keeping the metal dry. for more serious rust, youre right that wouldnt work.
No matter what he does the only way to get rid of rust is to completely remove it. Even if it is surface rust he must sand down until he sees clean metal. If WD40 will completely remove the surface rust, which I don't think it will, then it's not good enough. It has to be removed completely or it will spread. Period.

the best stuff is call Cold galvanized Spray You can find it at hardware stores its will do a good job of slowing down rust but i dont think you can use it as a primer or paint over it. I use it at work all the time for bolts im going to need to get to again that are starting to rust I soak it with that stuff and I can come back months or years later it will be fine if I hit everyspot the steal bolt.

exactly what i was talking about.
there is no real "cure" for rust. once the metal has been exposed to oxygen there's no stopping it. the only way to REALLY fix it is to get a whole new fender.
