Default New to HT - sorta

I'm pretty new to Honda-Tech. As far as posting goes anyways. . . I read alot on here.

At any rate, I need to get to know alot of you as I have much to learn in this hobby, I have big plans for a car (every has big plans). No really though, it's a 2000 Acura Integra LS.

Originally I started out N/A, running basic mods, CAI, exhaust, tb-bypass, very basic stuff.

My first times at the track were in the high 15's. . . we're talking 15.60's on up. My lowest 1/8 mile et was 9.79 at a 1/8 mile track a different track, on a different day.

Needless to say there was much to be desired - so I took things to the next level.

I did some intensive weight reduction, bringing my car down to a weight of 2480 with me in it.

I started to piece together a junk-yard turbo kit.

It consisted of:

Spearco FMIC
Custom bent 2.5 in IC piping
Greddy Type-S BOV
AEM Fuel-Rail / Reg
Apexi S-AFC
T25G Turbo (Nissan SR20DET stock turbo)
HKS Log Manifold (Ported & Ceramic Coated In/Out)
Custom 3 in down-pipe only
450 CC DSM black top injectors
1g integra resistor box

2 of my friends and I went out and tuned it on the afc to a conservative 11.9 with a wideband o2 sensor on the street

Here's a pic of the install

A pic of the car after install

A pic of the engine bay after install

First time out to the track. . . (the car felt strong, I had been daily driving it for over a month before taking it to the track) I was running 7 lbs of boost, creeping to 8. Expecting mid 13's I got in the waterbox and gave it hell, as I needed to warm up my Radials, lol.

There were lots of (mullet) domestics at the track on this particular day and they were clowning on my car like crazy before I even got up to the line. The tree hit grean and I cut lose. . . POP - nope, not the engine, just an IC coupler. So I baby it off the track and pop the hood. 5 Mins later, new coupler - good to go.

I line up again. . . warm up the radials and give it hell. Nothing went wrong on this run, I couldn't see the board when I passed the sign, so I continued on down around to the et booth, and on my way there my buddy came flying down the 1/4 with his window down at the end hollaring at me. . . I didn't understand him, so I pulled up to the et shack and got my slip. I was shocked to see a 12.91 @ 107

My first 12 second pass. . . I decided that I would try to run my little 13'in M/T slicks, so I put them on and went back down to the line and on my 3rd turbo 1/4 mile pass the slip read 12.812 @ 106. I was obviously excited - my lowest et ever.
12's are great, but now I'm in a position where I want to take it to the next stage again. So I'm going to. Here's a video from an 1/8 mile track w/ my car in it (blue teg) Compilation Video Link Most of the people in this video post on dragsource.com - and here as well. Adi has posted here before, he owns the black hatch in the video.

At any rate, now that you have my life story - I need to meet some of you.

Yeah, it needs suspension. . . that much weight reduction and stock suspension, eh I didn't have the scratch for decent suspension and didn't want to cheap out and get some off brand coil-over setup that would probably be counter-productive anyways. I've got all the time in the world to mod it now though. I got a daily driver and plan on doing a total rehaul. I sold most of the turbo kit that was on it, and am going to upgrade.

It sure does feel good. My plans are as follows:

I was considering going stroker, ls/vtec style with a snail of course

My current hang-up is deciding weather or not to stay at stock bore. In a perfect world a guy would just buy a dart block, crate. . . but a perfect world it is not. I'm probably going to end up going with a sleeved block at stock bore. But if anyone has feedback on that let me know. How much difference does .1 or .2 liters make?

Either way the mods are going to know about your shady lil charades.

benson. i just had mine done, $1000 total, 84mm sleeving on a gsr motor. they do the best sleeves of anyone, i haven't found anyone that's had any problems w/their sleeves ( just got my block back from him this week ) or if you wanna save a little bit and not spend as much, go for GE or darton.

12.8 is damn nice though, needs suspension

I just want the best quality/reliability job I can get. $1000, and you provide the block, correct?

What kind of horsepower are we talking about holding on a sleeved stock bore block provided the engine is tuned properly? Darton sleeves for example. Is this block going to be 500+ capable?

you supply block for $1k. or, you can buy the full shortblock setup straight from benson.. he'll assemble it, sleeve it, everything.... capable of over 700 hp shortblock straight from him. PM: Earl for questions, he can answer them all. im doing 400whp on my setup, and this is just the beginning... once i get tires that'll grip and other things i'm going for 500-600.

Very impressive. Seems like LS-T is the fastest growing thing around here. GSRs are out of the loop lol.

lol, pep boys. Has anyone ran them before, are they re-fabed axels?

Hey, if they will hold out for 1 run they'll do if they guarantee replacing them for life.
