Default Q's on new settup... b16, jun3 ctr pistons...blah blah blah

okay, need some advise. currently running ctr slugs with spoon headgasket and ctr cams jun springs manley ti retainers.... i just bought some jun3s, s200 hondata, and of course everything needed for obd1 conversion. now, before i go further, and especially before i head to dallas to tune.. fuel system. all i have is b&m with autometer guage. just got dsm 390cc injectors. should i use them? should i upgrade fuel pump? anything else that i may need to make sure ish is reliable and able to be optimized by tuning... if i did not mention it , it is stock. ie injectors, fp, rail, ignition etc...

if i were you, i would go to the dyno first and see if u can get the power with what you have. personally i was seeing 13:1 consistent a/f with stock pump, stock injectors and pressure regulator with the fuel pressure raised up.

alot of people appearently dont have the "luck" i do tho

13.5:1 comp b18c with goodies on it

from what ive seen bigger cams will just make the powerband last a little longer.
throw them in see how it feels

im really looking to get the most out of my tuning. by that i mean, if it would be wiser to upgrade anything before hand, what should i do??? my head is ready and my bottome end is ready. but fuel going to be very important with those cams.. i dont want my tuner to be like, well we could have gotten more out of it but.............

if your worried, get a set of 310's or some prelude injectors and take them with uto the dyno, its quick and easy ot change them on the rollers

actually i just scewed up and won two auctions. on set 390 dsm auto and one 23h22. so 1 bill for 2 sets. not bad eh. both cleaned and pulse tested. so am i right on not needing a fuel pump. im pushing 42lbs now on my ctrs with no leanout

okay, update. drove to Garland, met with Tony1 at Rotary Performance , had the biach tuned. with mysetup as listed before, i rolled out 160 to the wheels. i know that sounds low, but tony assured me that i should have dumped my catco cat. i did run for like a year untuned with the ctrs then the juns. so im sure it is the main culprit. also i was running stock airbox gutted with k&n drop in. my guess is i really need to work on the breathing for the juns. so its been less than a week since tuning and ive orderd a aebs ITM, and am working on a better header. and of course tomorrow to the shop to fab a testpipe. Dallas is far to visit Ari's dyno, but im gonna try to get a run or two locally after i adjust for the breathing. fuel was no problem btw.

got the aebs intake manifold all mounted up with an outlaw engineering thermo kit... didnt like the bolts they give for the manifold so i picked up some extended studs from autozone. still looking for a header... i wold love to go sms or anr, but those are pretty expensive... we will see. im a budget guy, like many of you i work hard and do my best to lay down for the good stuff. but its hard. neway, anyone have any other suggestions from here.

Sounds like a good setup, and 160 whp is low; but with a better header, intake, and a testpipe you are sure to yield better results.

I know its hard being on a budget, Im the same way. Just hang in there and things will fall into place in due time. Keep us posted.
