Default almost OT, but not quite: Alpine alarm - wtf do I have? Installers/ Pro's?

Well I have an Alpine alarm on my beater, and have no idea what alarm it is or how it works other than arm/ disarm.

It used to blink the parking lights when I'd press the button to arm or disarm, but no longer does that anymore..... Why? Is the alarm failing? I know it still will go off if someone tries to break in (I tested it), but I don't want to take it to a local place for obvious reasons.....

Anyone know Alpine alarms thoroughly that can tell me what and where to check and see wtf model I have and how to use the POS?

http://www.alpine.com was not very helpful... most of the info is only on current alarms, and the downloads for instructions don't seem to apply to the remote I have...

If you don't know what version of the "Brain" you have, I would start looking for it. Novice installers will hide this under the dash somewhere, usually on the driver side. The model # will be on the cover. After that, call alpine and talk to tech. support or go to a local installer, in someone elses car to ask the questions. Good luck.
