Tire questions and poll.
Alright well I got some new wheels today (Blades, Swirlies, 98 + GSR rims, whatever the hell you wanna call them) and I wanted to buy some new tires. I'm pretty much set on some Falken Ziex ZE-512.
My car currently is not dropped but I do plan on getting Koni yellows with Neuspeed sports. I wanted to get the best size which from what I read was the stock 195/55/15. However the cheapest rated version (H rated) on http://www.discounttire.com of this model doesn't come in the OEM size, another popular option I saw was 205/50/15 that costs $57.00 a piece. I read that the 205 compromises handling and other negative things. The only Falken Ziex ZE-512 that come in 195/55/15 is the V rated at $70.00 a piece. If I got the H rated 205's I save $52.00 all together.
I'm pretty much at a loss and don't know which size to get. I don't want to pay too much but I don't want to compromise anything either. I would love some input and suggestions, and as always all input and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Also here's a link to the available sizes on the website (For the H rated), are any of these sizes also acceptable? http://www.discounttiredirect....mance

the ziex were rated #1 by consumer reports like a year ago. there really good cheap low profile tires. I have a friend with an evo that we put them on his car and liked them alot. nice quiet comfortable tire. Go with the lower speed rating if dont travel at high mph for along time.
http://members.***.net/gulfinc/index.htm ordered from this H-T guy. you won't get a tracking order from him, but they will show up within a week. i ordered a set of 205 50 15 Falken Ziex ZE-512 and they were $220 shipped to my door.

I've driven on ZE-512's before....just say no.
And realize that consumer reports appeals to soccer moms.
Get a Z rated performance tire and you won't be sorry. It's worth the extra money and adds so much capacity to what the car can do it's worth every penny.
<---Rolling on Bridgestone Potenza s03's and couldn't be happier.

a.) some drivers respect their budget more than buying race tires for their FWD car.
b.) some drivers aren't looking to push their cars to the limit on their daily commute to work.
c.) some drivers like to make it to work in the rain with out slipping and sliding all over the place on their ultra-low profile, race tires.
hey, i enjoy driving enthusiastically as the rest of the integra driver's here. but keep in mind, not all of us get to experience perfect, sunny california commutes everyday. and the ZE-512's (at least from my extended research) is a fantastic, all around performer.

I got a set of those on my car, and if you wanna corner, they kinda break away real easy and have a lot of sidewall roll
, but they are cheap and they last a while, so that is definately a

Thats what I was thinking, of course I've heard good and bad things from both sides. Only problem is the 195 only come in V rated and cost more.

I would go for the 195/55-15 for the wheels. If you mount the 205s on stock rims, you could literally see how the sidewall sticks out.
personally i run 195/50-15s on my car. cheaper price and smaller overall diameter
but you feel more bumps in the road because of the thinner sidewall.

I agree with djfuzzie. Go with Yoko's. The AVSES100's more specifically. they come in that size and are pretty cheap. Oh yeah, they're a kick *** tire too. Killer handling in wet conditions, and ofcoarse dry. good tread life too. From my experience they beat alot of tires in the same category for almost half the price.
FYI: They are a summer tire= suck real bad in the snow

for normal driving commuting, not a difference. now for the play boy racer, then i'm sure you'll notice minor differences.
