Default 220 hp possible

Do you all think that it would be possible to get 220 hp with bc3+ cams, 11.65:1 compression ratio, block bored.25 (for pistons), p&p head, i.m. matched to engine, hytech exhaust? Is there anything if you all dont think that this would do it that i could change or add?

220hp or 220whp? everyone talks to the whp so im assuming it is. im not an engine builder so my opinions arent that great but ill say some stuff. getting 220whp is pretty damn hard. especially when your not at 85mm. it might be possible with an ls crank and a damn good ported head.

Um you can get their it will take some work though. I know another person (not on this form anther car form) That has a 89 Honda Accord like me and he Put a Turbo in it with original A20 engine and he got 203 HP out of it.. So you can get it alot easier with the engine you have... Good luck!

My set up consists of this:

Block:B18b
-usdm ITR pistons .25
-Eagle Hbeam rods
-honda bearings
-arp rod bolts
-Z10-block girdle
Head:B16
-Crower valves
-omni dualvalve springs
& retainers
-BC3+'s
-thinest cometic headgasket
-head milled for the second time which is now at about .30 shaven off
-JGmanifold with Holley 68mm throttlebody for now
-no P&P
-and stock exhaust manifold for now which consist of B16 upper runners and Gsr dp
Fuel/ignition
-chipped ecu mugen chip
-walbro 255
-stock injectors but moving up

and I am only expecting a little over 200 whp

wish me luck, I will post numbers when I dyno and race in October

Let's see: Hytech/SMSP/DTR/AN-R/Bisimoto header, Hytech or another high flow exhaust, AEM/Icebox/J's racing/Mugen intake, BC III+'s (might want something a little tricker though), P&P, Skunk 2IM w/ over bore TB and port matched. .25 over CTR pistons (might be too much for a B18C1), thin *** head gasket, and Hondata for tuning. You might get close to 220whp. I would say you have a better chance of getting 220 with an ITR motor bored out. My boy has i/h/e/vafc and some tuning on his B18C (JDM ITR), and he cranked out 184.9whp. He is soon going to get a custom header and some BC III+ cams and expects a bit over 200whp with tuning. With Hondata he may get more, but that is down the road.

exactly, I figure with more work done to the head, like a good valve job and a nice combo of I/H/E and that power is definatly possible with something good to tune from.

good luck

That setup had to be kind of pricey. 220whp is very hard to hit on 91 octane for little money invested. Tuning is a serious part of hitting that number. I don't think 11.67:1 would quite do the trick. If you don't want to use CTR pistons, use the OS ITR's with flat faced valves and a 1 layer head gasket. I think you should be okay on your pistion to valve clearance, and you should see near 12:1 compression. To be sure you clear though, clay your motor to be sure. I'm not sure how it's done, but I have heard about people doing it.
