messed up tranny
I got a 95 GSR tranny...one day it started making this clanking noise and when i would down shift to first gear it would make the noise and the car would jerk back and forth...does anyone know wut this is?? and now i took the car home driving in 2nd gear because the car wouldnt jerk as much..so then when i took it for another drive i noticed that my first gear is not there anymore...btw when i press the clutch down the noise goes away...would it be cheaper to get a new tranny or just fix this one...thanks in advance
Transmission prices vary. Sourcing another GSR tranny shouldn't be that difficult, I usually see them sell for between $500 and $700. However there is also the option of upgrading to a B16 or Type R tranny. Most B16 tranny's I've seen usually sell for around the same price, but expect a Type R tranny to sell for around $1000 if not a little more.

now instead of paying for new brake pads, you're paying for a transmission
