Default defrost/cruise switch removal?

I recently did my cluster/climate to the amber JDM using Bauley's how-to (thanks again man, it looks hot). Anyways, now my rear window defroster and cruise control look like *** because their the stock color. My question is, how do you take off the buttons to those switches? Do you just pry them off with a flat head? Or do you have to go from behind and push them out?

I plan on doing my clock amber tonight, using a red divider tab. I'll post pictures once I'm done.
