defrost/cruise switch removal?

I recently did my cluster/climate to the amber JDM using Bauley's how-to (thanks again man, it looks hot). Anyways, now my rear window defroster and cruise control look like ass because their the stock color. My question is, how do you take off the buttons to those switches? Do you just pry them off with a flat head? Or do you have to go from behind and push them out?

I plan on doing my clock amber tonight, using a red divider tab. I'll post pictures once I'm done.
