Default Newb Here, Found A Welder, Any Good?

Alright, first off first, I am a pretty basic newb here when it comes to welding and fabbing stuff up. I'm good with measurements and that ****, but I really wanna learn how to weld stuff up. Only lookin for possitive comments please. I found this welder http://www.harborfreight.com/c...=6098 . Again, I'm JUST looking for something to get me started, is that thing any good for a beggininer to learn on or is it complete ****? I know harbor freight isn't special, but it fits the pricerange and looks good for a starter kit . Plus... there's one by me so I could just go pick it up. I'm looking for a cheap welder, if it busts, oh well at least I can get some learning. Also, any other tips you feel might be helpful. You all seem like nice people after reading in this forum for awhile now and seeing some very creative ideas in that what have you fabbed lately post. I'm interested and would like to learn! Thanks!

Yeah that will be a good entry welder...i had the easy mig 101 as a starter and it had no problem with stainless or mild steel... i regret not getting a welder that was argon gas shielded though. It makes the welds cleaner and it is less painful to weld. E mail me with any questions you might have with welding. Andrew_Burchett@mail.msj.edu

Thanks Electron! I'll be sure to do that! Just seeing if there are more opinions. I'll hang an email sometime. I'd really like to get into welding

Includes 2lb spool of wire!

That is a starter kit.

It will do you fine, probably weld up bodypannels, motor mounts, pipes, custom pieces. Just DONT get into anything past 1/4" thick.
