How many hp to expect?
How many horses on the following: '94 Integra Gs-R with the following mods: Dinan ECU, GReddy SP2 cat-back exhaust, DC Sports Polished Stainless Steel headers, and Magnecor Competition 8.5mm Spark Plug Wires.
Thanks
Thanks

to answer your question, HP will vary from car to car, but i'll guess around 150-155 for your setup. the stock intake is gonna hurt you, and the plug wires wont do anything.
ps. i didn't know Dinan made stuff for honda, i thought they were a BMW company?

Okay......not sure about that whole Dinan ECU thing.
But an aftermarket ECU on your car with those mods won't do anything. If you want anything ECU related at all, look into some sort of engine management system like Hondata, Haltec, Motec, AEM EMS, etc. Those Jet chips and Power chips you see everywhere won't do anything.
Your plug wires won't do anything either.
So what are you left with? Your cat back exhaust and your header. Those are both pretty good. I would add a cold air intake to that list. It's not expensive and will probably net the most power out of everything.
I'd say you'd probably gain maybe 5-10 or so wheel horsepower on top. Nothing much, nothing really noticeable, but it's a good start.

Agreed. May 5 for benefit of the doubt.

yep.
yep.
Sorry for posting without reading rules. I'm just starting to get into the performance car area, and thought this would be a good place to ask questions...I guess I was wrong. This is just a car I'm considering buying, I know it needs a good intake. Anyway, if anyone in the Chicagoland-area (Gerbilo?) knows of any decent cars, preferably at least lightly modded, for under $8k (I know, not a big budget), PLEASE let me know. Thanks, and sorry for my ignorance.

Why would you want a car that someone already doen the work too it, who in god name know how the car is treated and condition. Just buy a stock car and work your way up and learn while yyour at it. I hate to see people that buy car already modified, i point to one thing and ask, they would be like i dont know.

Because I have no source of income right now, and my mom is financing this car, but no way in God's name would she pay for me to mod it. Also, I'm getting whatever car I decide on checked out by a good mechanic.
There are tons of cars in this area, you just have to figure out what you want and what you need. Go look for it.
If you have any questions i'll try to help you out, but remember, the search button here is very useful and just using some thought you can figure a lot out.

Dude, I already went for a 4.6 stang. came and went. being from chicagoland, it is a very poor idea, but I guess if you wanna do drifting, the winter and a stang are a great combo. I drove sideways from december to april more than I drove in a straight line. not a good idea, unless you like drifting...like i said...

93 and down is what you want if you want cheap and fast...5.0 pushrod V8 making 215hp go go mullet mobile
in 96 they introduced the modular 4.6. the GT is powered by a 215hp SOHC V8
99 is the current generation with better output for motors still a 4.6l SOHC but rated at 260hp
I was actually going to buy a 97 Mustang... SVT Cobra. 305hp stock
DOHC 4.6
I live in chicago though and I realized it was stupid. 15mpg on premium and RWD in chicago winters is stupid.
It is a damn nice car(the Cobra) but it just wasn't practical.

The 4.6 is one of the shittiest motors on Earth.

not necessarily true at all. ricers with i/h/e and a window sticker think they're fast as **** and can outhandle mclarens so they beat the **** out of their cars showing off their ****. people with turbo'd cars putting out respective numbers usually know how to maintain their car a lot better and thus treat it better.
but anyway, back to the original point
so keymaster, bolt ons and an ecu will not give you much power at all. even if it does, it probably won't be noticeable. learn about your car first before you go modding it.
