My tranny just blew on my 2000 Prelude,

Is it possible to use an Accord tranny with the 5th Gen ludes?

Thinking about getting a Dog-Box but daily driving would bite...

Yes, but as you said, driving would be nowhere near as fun.

 

5th gen prelude trannys suck, my synchros went and the tranny was rebuilt by honda its still not the same as it used to be, in winter it shifts harder they try to say its all normal

 

Wasn't there a TSB that went out a while back about tranny problems for the 5th gen? I know about 2 months after I bought mine last year I had to take it in for grinding issues whenever I shifted into 5th gear. Maybe it's the same thing- especially since you said you had synchro problems.

holy ****!!!! your transmission got OWNED. thats unfortunate. Make sure you rebuild with OEM parts or just get a low mileage tranny

 

I wonder if they make stronger aftermarket gears...
