Default I may do a friend's swap - H22 into 99 Accord?

I've never swapped an accord before. It's an automatic 1999 Accord. He wants to put the H22 in. Are all the mounts the same? Will the prelude motor/tranny swap right in? He was told by a local shop that mounts would have to be custom fabricated, but I don't think that's true. Then again, i've never swapped an Accord. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

scroll down to the second to last post in the Guide to Basic Accords. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=797528

i have not done the swap myself, but i believe it's essentially the same swapping an H22 into the 5th gens.

Thank you. My main concern is the tranny mount. The Accord is auto and he'll be getting an auto H22. Are all the mounts the same? Thanks!

he may wanna rethink that one, h22 auto trannys are as bad/even worse than the 6th gen auto trannys....after the swap the tranny is the most likely thing to fail next and would prolly happen soon after

Is it a direct bolt in though?

I've done an h22 swap into a '00 accord(it was a manual, though).
It all bolted it, except the driverside mount.
I had to pull the mount that bolts to the block off of the f23, cut, weld and then mount it to h22 block.
You dont necessarily have to weld, but if you dont, only 2 of the 3 bolts will line up.

Wiring sucked too, but I was converting it over to obd1.

Have fun.

why would you want to keep the obd II, is there anything to gain? my 99 accord s check engine light constantly glaring in my face makes me insane, so why keep the obd II? serously i don't know. Also how would you change obdII to obdI

It is possible to stay obd2, but you will either need to:
find a '96 h22 ecu (obd2 and no immobilizer)
or
find a way to bypass the immobilizer on a '97-up h22a ecu.

The only benefit is cleaner emissions.

But depending on where a person lives, they may have stay obd2 so they can pass emission and safety inspections.
