Help! Speedo went bezerk and then guages turned off while driving down highway!
Then My car stalled at a light and a stanger had to jumpstart me. Even then the car would run, but my turn signals and guages would not work. I heard a funny sound under the dash, but have checked all the fuses and they seem ok.
I checked the VSS-vehicle speed sensor and it was fine, in place.
Car has a b18b swapped into it with I/H/E.

I checked the big fuses under the hood near the firewall. This just suck because I paid $2k for the swap.

Check the fuses under the dash. Had the same **** happen to me. Ended up poppin 2 fuses.

cool, thanks I'll check agin. it's perilous place to check fuses when your stuck on the side of a superhighway!

Happened to me and the connection to the alternator was loose. There is a nut under a rubber cap on top of the alternator. Make sure the connection is tight. Check the easy stuff first. Check voltage also to see if it's the alternator.

where would you check the voltage at? the battery? cause im having the same problem.. but more severe and i changed the alternator

Yes, check your thread. Get a multimeter and test at the battery. Should be around 12.2v with the car off, and 14.4ish with the car on.

Bright Milano red. Has a fiberglass hood-matching red, Aem short ram intake, hight flow cat, Greddy Power Extreme Exhaust. New AC compressor and monting parts. The chassis has about 107,000 miles, as for the B18b.ls motor, I am unsure of the mileage.
I Have pics if interested. The car looks nice, exhaust sounds good, but, it does have this problem, which seems to be electrical in nature-it may just need a new alternator.
