I recently bought a 91 Integra that has a salvage title, but the motor is good, and I am selling it. But I was thinking about keeping the motor and putting it into a car I'm going to get in the future (eg hatch). The motor has alot of miles on it, 161k. It runs pretty good, the idle is alittle high at first but after a while it idles really low. So should I keep it? The thing that is holding me down on this is, if I do keep the motor, its going to take me a longer time to get my hatch. Plus, I dont have any time or resources to swap the motor out, hold it for a few months and swap it in the hatch. Thanks for any advice and help!!

 

I wouldn't keep it with the intention of swapping it in as-is. If you keep it, you should rebuild it at least since it has a lot of miles. That way you know that the time you spent swapping it in was worth it - nothing worse than going through all of the trouble to swap it and having it break after 10k miles.

 

Just sell it. There is no point in putting it in the hatch as-is (Stock) espically if you don't have the time and resources to do so....If you were gonna do a high compression LS VTEC then maybe it would be worth it.
