Default TODA C Spec cams...worth the $$$?

My friend bought a set of TODA C's for his all motor LS/VTEC. He is built, sleeved, blueprinted, balanced, and cryo treated. Just curious if the C's were really worth it. He is looking to possibly run 11's all motor for now...then go for better times later. Also, he has a Skunk 2 Intake Manifold with a 72MM throttle body. He wan't to go with TODA ITB's Should he just sell his I/M and TB and go with the TODA ITB's. He is going to have Courtney in SLC tune it BTW.

I definitely think that the Toda's are worth the money. Especially for valvetrain modifications, I believe that Toda is the way to go. Toda has been making DOHV VTEC billlet cams longer than any other manufacturer out there. You can literally see the beauty in the parts! But, especially since he has the spec C cams, he needs the Toda adjustable cam gears and the Toda valve spring kit if he wants to properly run the spec C cams. Just to play it safe, he may want to use the Toda recommended timing belt. Also, in regards to the TODA ITB, get it!! The spec C cams will benefit most from the ITBs. Sounds like a killer setup. Hope I was some help.

The Toda C's would be "worth it" in the proper engine package. Sounds like your friend has a good engine package, so to him they are probably "worth it"

Interesting theory; but I doubt it's veracity.
Toda cams are very good. Quality of the machining is second to none. The mid-range on the B's, C's, and D's is awesome. The idle can be finicky with the bigger non-VTEC lobes. I run C's in my ITR and D's in the Civic. I love them. Too bad there is not a cam with Toda non-VTEC lobes and Jun 3 VTEC lobes.

He has all TODA valvetrain, just to let everyone know. He even ordered his TODA timing belt. Not really a completely 100% street car, autoX is what he is intending on using it for.

EXACTLY! Why in god's name would you ever buy a Toda cam over a Jun?? Jun has proven and documented horsepower gains over any god damned Toda piece of ****. The only reason I can really see doing Toda is if you're road racing - Toda has some torque producing specs. Drag racing/going fast = JUN

He must mean the 2 or 3 on importreview.
Take into account each motor is different and each cam will respond differently to what else the motor has done to it.
Toda = Quality parts I have never seen a Toda cam break, im not saying its never happened, but if it has I have not seen it.

The guy said he is building for road race and auto-x, not drag racing(read the thread before you post, jackass)!

Toda and Jun are both good quality pieces, so why are you knocking on Toda! Everyone is entitled to an opinion so prove your point please:" Why do you not like Toda cams?"
