weird weird problem, need help

weird weird problem, need help
ok, for the past 2 weeks iv been driving on the high way alot, and everyday, while im cruising in 5th gear the car like shuts off, feels and sounds like i just let off the gas.. i push the gas, nothing, no go and no rev, but when i push the clutch in and out its all good and i can keep driving
its like when ur going down the street and u turn ur car off going in what ever gear, and u put it to the "on" position and push the clutch and it starts back up... seems to be just like that
anyone ever heard of this? please help me
EDIT: i thought maybe it was the tranny cuz i just swapped it, and maybe it was slipping out of gear... but its not, it stays in gear and when i push the gas it doesnt even rev

Are you getting a CEL? Do you have any problems with the speedometer? I had that happen when my Vehicle Speed Sensor was broken. The car would die on the freeway for a couple of seconds and then out of nowhere is would have power again.

i have a bad VSS, i hope thats the problem, was it ok after u got it fixed?

Yes it never happen again. The weird thing about it was that the CEL wasn't on but it would still die anyways when the VSS was broken.
