Need spark plug help, did a search already a few actually
I have Denso iridium spark plugs in the car now and I think my spark is blowing out because I was spewing fuel out the exhaust this morning and now I have a cel. I could have swarn the guy told me they were gapped to 42 or 43 even checked them in front of me. I should be gapped more around .30 shouldn't I?
I just checked the website and they are in fact gapped at .044, but says for tubo apps it should be adjusted. So how much should I change it. .040?
By the way I have an 01 GSR with a 18g kit. running the blue box

yes even though they're iridium. whenever you can, switch over to regular ngk 3330. they're the best/most cost effecient plugs.

I pulled the plugs out, blasted them with carb cleaner, then gapped them down to .030. Car ran great on the way to work, no CEL, nice idle. PLugs were black as **** though, damn blue box. Oh well one more week till tuned hondata
do not get iridium for boost, they retain too much heat, get just get stock HONDA plugs, not platinum, with .030 gap and going a degree colder also might help, iridium = good for NA cars not for BOOST,
Alright went out and brought some V power NGKs gapped them to .030, car idled like crap, so i went to .038, then .040. Now car runs great, i'm back to a stock idle, and my gas mileage is like that of a Honda engine once again.
For those wondering I had denso iridiums in the car prior, might put them back in when I get the car tuned. i doubt it though the V powers are cheap, and they sure earned the $8 they cost, with that great idle.
Thanks all for the advice and tips, Boosted and happy once again.

Some other guy on the site said when he went down to .030 his car didn't run right. He gapped it to .038 and said it was all cool after that, so I did the same and I'm happy so far.
Just regret having spent $40 on spark plugs.

I know its what everyone says, but I would've never made it out of the autozone parking lot with that idle. The car was bogging down bad while idling. I'll probably try different gap sizes this weekend, and see what happens.
Actually I'll wait till I go tune and ask my tuner what he thinks. I have a set of denso iridiums gapped to .030, so maybe I'l slap them in, depending on what shawn says.
