Default Lightbulb Help

I may have touched my light bulb taking it out of my car. I did this becasue I had some Eurolite bulbs laying around and wanted to see if they all were burnt out or just some of them. Well anyways the side of my finger may have touched it I'm not sure but I don't want to take any chances. What do you clean the bulbs with I know its some kind of alcohol but I don't remember what. I should be getting new headlights Thursday but I would like to keep my stock bulbs incase they burn out or I don't like them. I haven't put the light back in yet I just having it sitting out so I can clean it.

The alcohol is dissolving and cleaning the oil/dirt from your fingers and skin that attached itself to the bulb...all you have to use is just the alcohol pad. Worse case just grab a clean shirt or something and wipe it off.

Its really not that hard

Ok I cleaned them. I read an article thing and it said to clean it off from hitting your fingers or from the car. It hit the sides of the housing a little when putting it back in is this ok?

what do you mean by housing? It should be ok if you were careful with it, but if you got it somewhere where there's dirt it could be a problem. If youre worried just do it again and be more careful

I think its ok it just hit the sides when I was putting it through the whole. I tried several times and dont think I can get it in the whole without hitting the sides.

Oil from your fingerprint etches the glass when it heats up. So you have to clean it off real good before ever turning it on.

If the sides of the reflector are clean, OK. But if there's any grease from the lamp's O-ring seal that gets on the bulb, that's not ok.

If they are not Halogen, it makes no difference, just put the bulb in. You only need to be careful if the bulb is Halogen.
