Default oil burning question

my car was 2.5 quarts low on oil today. did a compression test, it came out fine. couldn't find any leaks anywhere.

the only thing i can find as a problem is my oil dipstick housing comes out if you pull on it, it's not securely fastened down. that's the only near leak issue i could find.

do you think my car could burn 2.5 quarts do to that or what?

It might have leaked out that much....ever have any oil consumption (burning) problems before? You should consider replacing your dipstick holder or getting yours in tightly.... A new holder is around $10 from honda and is easy to install - especially if you can get your old one out easily.

MY CAR WAS DOING THE SAME THING SO I CALLED THE ACURA DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THEM WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID IT IS NORMAL FOR THE BSERIES VTEC MOTORS TO "LOSE" 1 QUART EVERY THREE THOUSAND MILES!!!

yeah but he isn't losing just 1 quart. he lost 2.5 lol.

just try fixing the dip stick holder problem. then see what happens.

and does anyone else notice that vtec does tend to burn oil?

no need for the caps dood.

the dipstick hold comming out when you pull it is gonna be the cause of your issues.

Neither of my motors lost any oil between changes. And it is never black either. I check my oil everytime I get gas just to be safe. If I run it hard maybe 1/4 quart. Then again I don't use the good oil like everyone else does .
