My car is running COLD!
I noticed that my car has been running cold lately. it's a 2000 ITR. The needle on the temp gauge dip back into the cold zone when ever I press on the gas. While in idle, the temp is find. But once I get moving, the needle just drops back to C. I dont think there's anything wrong with the temp. sensor, cause the lower rad hose was actually cool. I think it might be the thermostat. Could it be stuck open? But the car only has 76,000 kms on it , so I don't think it should go bad this soon. Anyone have this similar problem before? Can someone help me out?
Thanks.
Thanks.
probably the thermo being stuck open. you could probably get warranty work done for this type of problem. on the other hand, if you're shady about taking your car to a dealer, it's cool because they're cheap like the d00d before said.
yeah, I talked to the dealer today. They said that the thermo is only warranteed for 3 years/36,000 kms. My car is now 4 years old so it's not covered. But does thermos got bad this soon? The guy from the dealer told me that it might be something else cause thermos don't usually go bad this soon. He said that they usually last for like a 100,000 kms b4 going bad. Well I just think that they want to make some money for the work.
So does thermos ever go bad so soon? maybe I got a defective one? Why else would Honda only warrantee it for 3 years?
