Default changing trans oil

Hi i was about to change the tranny oil on my H22A1 prelude and there are two bolts , one 3/8 drive ratchet fits into and under that is one a 1/2 inch drive fits into. Is the 1/2 inch one the drain and the other to fill ?

No, I think you fill in the same hole you drain. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

You're both wrong. dcr, you aren't looking at the right bolts. The ones you need are more towards the middle of the car next to where the passenger side alxe fits into the tranny, not on the very end of the tranny like the ones you are thinking of. The drain bolt is the one on the bottom, and it's a 3/8 ratchet bolt I believe. The fill bolt is a normal bolt (don't remember what size) and it's in the 9 o'clock position relative to the drain bolt.

The drain bolt is at the bottom of the pic, the bolt is removed. The fill bolt is in the upper left hand corner of the pic.

Excuse my dirty tranny, I had a torn CV axle boot.

Actually you're right, I found the bad axle/torn boot and replaced it with a remanufactured axle. Well the remanufactured axle had a slit in the boot and i didn't notice till 2days after i installed it.

So thats actually two loads of CV axle greaser under there.

I cleaned it all up when i changed the clutch

what do you mean?

there are alternate places to put in tranny oil. Tranny vent pipe is one, VSS sensor hole is another. A little less messy than using the fill hole.
