ok, I have a stock tranny that came in my 96 hatch. I just picked up a 95 ex tranny for free but it pops 2nd. The question I would like answered is "Can I use parts out of my old tranny to fix the poping?"

You need to be more specific as to what's "popping". Possibly yes, possibly not.

Also, it would sound as though you arent to familiar with the inner workings of the tranny so you may want to consult someone who does.

 

also you may be ablew to use the syncros from on into the other, but anything major then no.

 

I already know what the problem is and what to do about it. Someone told me I could use the bearing out of my old tranny and put them in the ex tranny. I thought the ex tranny bearings were bigger so I'm just making sure if this can be done or not. Dont want to waste all the time tearing the tranny down.
