Default I'm running too rich, HELP!

My car is deffinately running too rich, when it starts up, it burps up some black smoke, I'm getting maybe 10mpg (it is a pretty hi-performance car though.) And my chipped 5400 VTEC crossover sputters in 4th and 5th gear and doesn't have the power to change the cam lobes, it sounds like it's drowing. Please help, I've already sent away to the guy who customize's the EPROM chips for me and asked for stock Fuel and Ignition tables before the crossover in hope that the advances Fuel and Ignition tables were to much for my car to handle in the lower RPM's, and more aggressive fuel and ignition tables after the VTEC crossover. Please advice, I still think it could be other things like my Fuel Pressure, T-stat, ignition timing etc...
Thanx in advance

check all of your grounds for that sputtering.
what motor do you have?
what cams do you have?
what ecu program are you running?

What I meant by pretty hi performance is that it's not bone stock and has more than just an intake and exhaust. I'm running a p30 ecu with a custom eprom chip. It's a 1.6l JDM DOHC VTEC motor with skunk 2 cams and aem cam gears.
Thx

might want to invest in a Fuel Pressure Regulator and a Apexi VAFC
