Default D16A manifold question

Doing a MPFI swap and curious to see if anyone knows what item #9 in this picture is... the informative Honda description of "valve assy" doesn't tell me much. The manifold I have has the white intake temp sensor on the far side just above the alternator, this mystery valve, then the coolant valve just behind the throttle body.
One friend of mine has a 90 SI 5spd and his manifold did not have this but his 89 HF does.

I believe that is the fast idle valve. If you don't have it, it will not throw any codes.

Thanks, just finished up the wiring and was curious to see if I really needed it. I'll just tape the connector up out of the way.

I ignored it when I did the swap; if you want to take the time you can read a wire diagram and run wires to the ecu from it, but it won't make a difference. Mine is just tucked out of the wayIN case I ever have to use it.

i am assuming that if it doesnt get hooked up that you cap off the vaccum lines or do you still connect them eventhough it isnt wired up?
where would i be able to find a description on how to hook up this?
thanks
