Default Tranny guru's.....tell me what you think of this gearing setup......

I have all of these gears together already and I am about to finish assembly of the tranny but I wanted some input before I closed the case and installed it in my car

I made a custom ratio'ed tranny with the following
gears from the following donor tranny's

1st gear.......3.307 (b16 del sol tranny)
2nd gear......1.900 (GSR)
3rd gear.......1.360 (GSR)
4th gear.......1.034 (GSR)
5th gear.......0.714 (LS)

all tied in with a 4.400 final drive

top speed of each gear will be as following with my car's setup (23.2" diameter wheels and a 7200rpm rev limit)

1st gear....34.2 mp/h
2nd gear...59.4 mp/h
3rd gear....83.0 mp/h
4th gear....109.2 mp/h
5th gear....158.2 mp/h

My only worry would be the drop in RPM when shifting from 1st to second gear.

well if I were to shift at redline I would only be dropping to 4137 rpm if I were to use a ITR/B16 2nd I would have a speed of 53.7mp/h and the rpm's would only drop to 4692

as sayd above the drop from 1st to 2nd, depending on engine you might fall out of the power band.
what engine?
longer first will help you out of the hole though

I'm a fan of the B16A/ITR 1,2,3 and 4 with whatever 5th you choose.

I am running a LS.....power starts to get good around 4200rpm

how about this for ratios

3.230 (ITR)
2.105 (ITR)
1.360 (GSR)
1.034 (GSR)
0.787 (GSR) or 0.714 (LS)

the rpm drop from 1-2 is to 4692
2-3 4652
3-4 5474
4-5 with LS gear 4972
4-5 with GSR gear 5480

5th gear cruise at 70 mp/h with LS is at 3185
5th gear cruise at 70 mp/h with GSR is at 3511

mostly street and some spirited backroad driving(maybe a little drag.....but I doubt it)......I will have a new engine and tranny before the track days come

the last setup sounds the best with the itr 12 gsr 345 if it was a drag car id say get the longest 12 for traction resons but for street and some fun spirited driving the short ratio cant be beat.

BAH screw it, I am just going to make a GSR tranny with a LS 5th

close enough to being fun but good for gas mileage
