Default ECU question

I have a DOHC ZC with an 88 Integra ECU, and were going to swap it for a built d15b7. My question is, can I have the Integra ECU chipped with Turboedit to run the d15, or do I need to get a new ECU specifically for the d15?

B7 is OBD-1 so you need to downgrade that motor to preOBD spec and then it will run with TurboEdit.

So I may as well just get the B7 ECU right? And it will still plug into the engine harness right?

Different OBD ECU's aren't compatible with different underdash harnesses.
You would need an OBD-1 to OBD-0 jumper harness to run the B7 ECU.
Like this one - http://www.boomslang.us/obd0.htm

You could just use the distributor and single wire O2 sensor from your ZC and put them on the B7 motor. Then you can use your TurboEdit ECU.

Would a PM8 ECU from an 89 CRX HF work? With the harness?

A B7 and B2 are internally the same motor just different obd's. Bolt on an A6 dizzy to the B7 head. You will be able to run the B7 with your 88 teg ecu (PG7) just fine. You did say it was built right? The PG7 is setup for a D16, your motor is a D15. Won't be a problem.

COrrect me if I'm werong but doesn't the ZC distributor lack the interal 'cam angle' sensor like the other obd-0 mpfi dizzys? I"m pretty sure that big round sensor on the exhaust cam is something important....

I'm just wondering if the ZC dizzy would work right since it's missing a sensor...I guess i'm not a ZC freak.

No it would run incredibly lean and would thorw a code for the EGR valve the B7 is missing.

No harness needed for that. The HF is OBD-0 and will plug into your OBD-0 underdash harness.

The problem is that "HF".
It's not a very demanding motor.
It's going to run a bit leaner than it should.
People have tried to run the D16A6 and D16Z6's with that ECU and it's been problem.

But I will have it chipped with Turboedit so A/F's will be adjustable.

Hell I tried to run a MPFI converted d15b2 and it ran like ***.

No PM8 is easily chippable. All of them are romless ECU's that require special modifications to be chipable. It would be easiest just to get a stock PM6(D16A6 ecu) and run on that.

I think you are right.
I think the DOHC ZC has it external.

Shucks.

just run it off of your current ecu...no change is necessary.

My ZC does have the external sensor, so I cant use that distributor correct?

And I should find a PM6 ECU?
