I've had my AEM CAI on my car for about 13,000 miles now, and i'm guessing I should probably be cleaning it pretty soon. Am I correct in assuming I can use the typical K&N Filter cleaning kit to clean the filter on the AEM? How often do you guys do this?

yeah,i use the K&N filter/cleaner kit..i had mine installed in feb. and should had cleaned it in aug.(6mons. is good) but i was too lazy and finally cleaned it last month..it wasn't too dirty..depends on where u drive it.

 

Same here I had mine on for about 1 year before I decided to clean it. You couldn't even hear the AEM suck in air like you could, when it was brand new, but ever since I cleaned it. I performs like it brand new you can hear the AEM sucking in air again and looks 110% better than before! (Use the K&N cleaning kit and get same brushes to clean between the filter too). You'll be fine with those products and don't hit the filter against the wall or ground to loosen or get out the rocks and dirt between the filter. Just shake and brush them out. I bent my filter alittle, but no big deal. Plus, cleaning it depends on how often does it rain in your area. I now live in a area that doesn't rain to much, but when I lived in TX. That rained often, your filter will get dirty quicker!

 

Clean it every with every oil change.

 

make sure you dont get too happy and over oil your filter though..
