Default Yet another smog failure

After recieving my smog only notification early august I have since dreaded to get my smog done knowing that I would fail miserably. So I finally took the initiative to get smog done today.

1998 Acura Integra Gsr
Comptech Icebox w/ K&N drop in filter
jdm 4-1 itr header w/ heatshield
Smsp 2.5 carsound cat
Greddy Evo catback exhaust

Is this an easy fix with seafoam? o2 sensor?

The technician there told me to swap out my cat with a stock one. Im wondering if the stock cat will bolt up to the 2.5" collector of the jdm header, does anyone know?

stock cat wont bolt upto jdm header, unless you get a new 2.5" flange welded on..i would go back to all stock parts if u can

i'm assuming thats the CA smog test huh? Man...i was chittin my pants when they had my gsr on the dyno..........on the 15mph test, i barely passed! But your numbers are way beyond even coming close to passing......... I'd try putting on your stock header and cat and trying it out on a full tune up (plugs/cap/rotor/fresh oil/etc). I'm sure there's other tricks in the book as well...

Here in CA, the smog regulations are a pain in the ***. Any car under 1992, they only test the tail pipe. Any car 1993+, they dyno it. Testing both the tail pipe and the motor. I was afraid I wasn't going to pass, knowing that my car always had a scent of gasoline. Luckily I did pass. Passed with flying colors.

I've had to deal with smog issues for a few months now. I have a similar setup. I'd recommend replacing the carsound cat with the OEM unit. You could have a muffler shop weld on the 2.5" flange so you don't have to replace the header either. I'd also recommend changing plugs, wires, cap & rotor, and oil. You're results are almost identical to mine.

I'm still in the process of finding an OEM cat. Someone stole my stock header and cat from my apt garage 3 days prior to me knowing that the OEM cat could be put on to pass..

If anyone has an OBD-II cat for GSR in the bay area, please let me know ASAP!
