egt and wideband o2 Are they used for the same thing? Looking for the things I need for tuning. Do I need both? Or just one of either?

Wideband o2 sensor is used for the A/F ratio (I have on myself and it's very handy). The EGT is used for exhaust gas temps, now I am not a tuner, but I believe this is most useful when tuning timing? EGT's will change when you adjust timing so being able to monitor that along with A/F ratios would be nice.
