Question for experienced motor-swappers ... logistics?
My brother just wrecked his '91 GS. I've got a '93 sedan needing $800 in repairs (head gasket / wheel bearings / AC just died), and he's in the process of buying a '91 sedan with a full turbo setup. My brother's plan is to buy the car and sell me the motor. Put his '91 motor (180k miles) itno the sedan, put the sedan's motor into mine, pull mine out and rebuild it for a spare / sell / whatever.
Logistically speaking, can a motor be so modded that it'll be really hard to swap, or is it still pretty much a b18a to b18a swap all the way around? We're probably getting in over our heads either way, but we're thinking that renting a cherry picker, we could have all three motors out and 2 reinstalled in a weekend, with a few friends' help... fingers crossed :0)

Ok, then what about the possible deteriorating effects of a turbo system on the stock auto tranny? Already had to replace it once, is there a way to strengthen that?

is that thongs motor?
well, to attemp to answer your question, i dont think it'll be too hard to swap the motor into your car. you might have to take the bumper support and possibly the front x-member from the turbo car because they might be notched for turbo/intercooler fitment. but generally, it'll be pretty straightfoward.
