If you're just talking about the boots, then I'd recommend that you get OEM ones. My dad repacked an axle with an Autozone one and it split in under 2 years. If you compare an Autozone and an OEM boot, the OEM had a better quality. Also, the difference in price between the two isn't that great.

Also, don't get one of those spilt boot kits. I've seen them split open only after 6 months of use.

how do you secure the boot clamps on autozone boots? Do you need some special pliers?

They make special pliers for some types of the clamps, but I have used normal pliers to tighten them. I have also had good luck with big *** zip ties. They are easy to get on and suck down tight. I have never had a zip tie fail me on that application.

I ok I just got a pair of inner cv boots and a pair of outer cv boots. Are the clamps size suppose to the same for the inner and out boots? The inner and outer boot BIG clamps (clamp to the race) are the same size but the size of the SMALL clamps (clamp to the shaft) are different. Is this a mistake?? The part of the inner and outter boot that go over the shaft have the same diameter but the inner boot clamp size is smaller than the outter boot clamp size.
