Yeah... when i halfway push up the right turn signal it makes this screeching electrical sound (hard to explain) and the dashlights turn off as well as the TAILIGHTS. Pushin down on the directional lever for the left directional is normal. The dash lights will stay off till I push down on the directional (left directional) and the lights return... WEIRD!! anyone have any ideas? Cruise control has also stopped working when I have the headlights on. I've not done anything to start these problems, they just started happening a month ago.

I'm thinking it is a short somewhere but I am not sure where to check. Everything works, just intermittenly - all the fuses are good.

Thanks to anyone who can help... I've got no experience w/ this stinkin electrical stuff.

i think i might have to replace the directional stalk, anyone done this before?

 

have you or someone else installed a stereo or alarm recently or indiglo lights ?
I don't think it has anything to do with the turn signal stalk; sounds like a short.

 

thats the thing, i've not touched a thing. The only possible thing i can think happened is i knocked down on the directional stalk when i was getting in one time and the impact didn't break it off but did something internally to cause it to start shorting now. I vaguely remember something like that maybe happening a month ago (knocking that stalk). Anyone replaced the stalk before???
