sounds like a loose connection somewhere.Check around your fuse block.

common problem. my 95 and 97 do the same thing. and im too lazy to fix it. usually i just hit the dash and it lights up. so its prolly just a loose connection.

how badly do they dim? is it just a little noticeable or enough that you cant see at night? a little but is normal b/c when the cars just idling its not charging as much as when the engines at a driving rpm. if its bad, it could be a wearing alt. battery, cables, grounds. basically any part of the charging system. you could take the car to autozone and have them test the battery and alt.

Its not to the point where you cant see! They dont turn off its just that its freakin annoying when you look at your cluster and it starts blinking and ****!Im very **** when it comes to how my cars run and i always like that everything is perfect to the smallest detail!

you could always get a high output alt, or accessory battery to store extra power when its not charging. like people do with high demand audio systems. imo it is annoying but i deal with it.
