Help with Ground control / Bilstien install....
Parts Bilstien Sport ITR shocks and Gound Control's (2.5x8x400-F & 2.5x7x500-R)
I am putting all of this stuff together and I have a question about the dust covers. The Ground Control install sheet says to cut off the dust cover and only leave 1.5 inches on the shock. It would hit the sleaves otherwise. However this leaves no protection to keep dirt and stuff off of the shock shaft. Is there another way to do this to get some protection from the elements to the shock shaft.
Anyone here have a similar setup?

I didn't cut them at first thinking they wouldn't get caught. But sure enough, two days later, they were all crumpled. Had to take the front assembly back apart and cut them. So in other words, do cut, unless Big Phat R, or Bryan Spinkel have done something otherwise that has worked for them
