Default B18C1 w/ LS tranny? Gearing too tall?

I autocross a lot and often run out of gearing w/ the 7k redline of my B18B. However, when I swap to a B18C1 I will be redlining at pretty much the same speed, no big advantage there. Sooo, how does the LS tranny work with the B18C1? Will the car drop out of VTEC on shifts? I know I could adjust the VTEC engagement point, but has anyone done a similar setup?

it wont be optimal, but you wont drop out of vtec in gear changes since the vtec x-over on the b18c is 4400.

For autocrossing it will be optimal though (as well as for daily driving)... You really only use 1st and 2nd gear, so the higher speed in each of those two will be helpful. Usuaulyl a course is all 1st gear and you'll run out of gear once or twice, and sometimes you run out of gear in 2nd on other courses... On the track however it may hurt me a bit, as the 4->5 drop is a pretty big big one.

I'll have to try it. Thanks for the info!

so then it will help you, since the higher redline will give you about 5mph in 1st and 10mph in 2nd
