Default i feel losing power for this

dann...i think i losing hp for this force deduction setup

an ok header 4-1 w/2.5 outlet, exhaust custom piping mandrel bend (stock path) with a Magnaflow cat converter and a resonator plus Greddy evo2 muffler....
before that all i got is an CAI....after get taht that up for exhaust i feel like no gain but lose...however i do few the car is running smoother in term of force induction and deduction..am i too suspicious or what...does smoother feel meaning more hp and tq gain?

could it be the piping 2.5 is too big for stock gsr 97? with just an CAI? should i feel the gain only at high rpm reving?

huh? is it forced inducted or na? since you just put a header on i'm assuming na.

no 2.5 is not to big but you may have lost a little bit of low end torque that may be why it feels like you lost power. your gains would be in the upper rpm's with the increased exhast flo.

what's an okay header? be more specific, I guess since it has a 2.5 in. collector, it's not the problem.

Not sure what you are talking about when you are saying forced induction and deduction, are you referring to acceleration and deceleration, just fishing at this point...lol

how does it feel past 5500 RPM's?

oop's it's a NA motor....but by forced inducted i mean air in and deducted= air out

oops well im trying not to embrassing myself, but wat the hell im poor so i bought a month old knock off of type R header 4-1 with 2.5 outlet. Secondly, forget about indcutin and deduction stuffs...

when i drive at low rpm i feel it running smoother because of no air restriction in exhaust system, but when it hits 5400rpm the vtec sound is louder than before...is this a sympton of increase in hp and tq? or losing power

did u drive hard when ur car is completely stock? u should be able to feel the difference. ex. just with an cai intake, u can feel ur car pulls little bit stronger, with i/h, u fell more tq of the line and mid, with the bigger piping and exhaust, ur car will be more smoother, u can feel u lose alittle tq, but ur reallie gettin the mid-top end due to the 4-1 header with 2.5 piping.

hope that help. if my wrong is incorrect or not accurate , feel free to correct it.

good luck mang

hmm...well i feel more smoother than before it was a stock does that help....but i haven't take it to redline or at 8k rpm since the h/e installed....but one thing i noticed vtec sound is louder than it was before at 5,400 rpm....

so there is no possibility of loses?

to reset the ecu, pull out the ECU fuse for 2 min, then replace, start the car and idle for 10 min w/o touching the gas and with nothing else in the car on. Shut off and then drive. ALso get that thing on a dyno, lots of power can be made just with distributor timing

ecu fuse, you could disconnect your neg battery as well, but then you would lose your radio, just pull the ecu fuse

just take out ur ecu fuse. reseting the ecu will help it relearn since u have basic bolts on. good luck

if you're running a stock ECU, then that's not VTEC you're hearing, that's actually your secondary butterfly's opening up, take it up to 8,000 RPM's, I"m sure you haven't LOST any power, you may not have gain any, but you definitely did not lose.

With most modifications, the first thing you sacrafice is the low-end torque, in hopes to gain a nice mid-range. I personally, don't care too much about low-end torque, I think 3000-6000 is more important, so I mod freely...lol

it takes 10 min, thats the idle learn procedure, it will actullaly do it itself with out the reset, just by driving it around, and re-learning its fuel curve, its just faster to do it that way

honestly me too....

im running stock ECU (completely stock no chipped)

cool better not losing any power at high end....oh yeah btw feeling that the car is running smoother is a gain or just how the air flow does it matter?
