hey can i just put the head on and not run vtec like no wiring and just put the head on or no???is there still wiring if i use the 91 SI distro

 

Hmmm I know a car came into work that had an SOHC VTEC motor but not the intake(it's from a D15) and it was having problems

 

Install Z6 head, butcher the dist, install CRXSi intake, don't wire up VTEC = all that for NOTHING and lose 2-3 hp.

OK now why !?!?! would you want too?!?!?!

 

Why does everyone always use the stock CRX intake manifold when they do a sohc vtec swap? USE THE VTEC INTAKE MANIFOLD! If your sticking non-obd, just swap in your stock injectors. Also, the vtec FPR is rated at a higher pressure so it will help eliminate fuel problems. Also, i agree? why run a vtec head without vtec? It would have just a little more tq than stock though....
Just buy a cheap RPM activated switch from summit, and when you get the cash go for the zdyne 1-wire vtec conversion: http://www.zdyne.com/convhome.html

...and if ya really wanna be ghetto, get a shift light w/ pills and use that to control vtec or even better, a toggle switch. hehe

 

True rice ghetto, guy used one of the horn switches on his MOMO steering wheel to hit VTEC.
