L3 si tranny problem...car won't go into gear when after starting the car...
i just completed my D16A6 swap into my 89 crx hf and the stupid *** i bought the motor from ripped me off. i turned on the car and it started hella knocking
but whats weird is i turn on the car and i can't even put the car into any gear and if i try the car dies. i bought new flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate with tthrow out bearing and pilot bearing. the clutch kit came with a clutch alignment tool but it was too small so i had to line up the clutch by eye. what would cause that, the car not being able to go into gear when turned on? i mean when the car is off, i can run thru the gears, 1st thru 5th and even reverse...but when the car is on i can't even shove the shifter into any gear...and when i put it in reverse it won't go in and grinds. did i install the clutch wrong OR did i get a bad tranny too?

also one more thing. i bought my clutch kit and flywheel from napa auto parts and the guy said that they didn't have a kit for a 88 crx si tranny...only a dx. well they didn't have the part number for that year..so i ordered it for a dx. they are the same thing right? ok thanks
What transmission do you have?
88 is a 21 spline and 89-91 is 20
90-91 have a bigger clutch disc...

Get the kit for the year tranny you have and it should work. DX and Si are diff part numbers but i dont know if they are physically the same or not.
