My options.. (input please)
I bought a suppose to be standard deck dart motor, what i got was a tall motor? Im considering my options for each. ive contacted the sell who sold it to me, im waiting for him to get back in to town. (tuesday)
My options im considering
1. Get seller to Refund my money
2. Get seller to swap the tall motor out through where he bought it from, and get him to give me a Standard deck. (ill be fucked out of shipping cost
)
3. Buy a Crower 95mm Crank, and figure out what else i need to get it to work.. and stroke that bitch..
Im really trying to figure out about stroking.. im searching like a madd man.
Stroking means bigger crank, does that also mean longer rods (custom rods)?

I dont know what to do.

I'd just get a refund and talk to Earl about a package deal. You would get benson sleeves, quality assembly, and just drop that bitch in. Is Vonte's hatch done yet, I havent seen him around lately. We have been busy as **** over here at work.

Patience bro, thats what I say. Just sit down with a calculator and figure out your options.
I look at it this way, lets say you go with Earl, you got the cost of the assembled short block, peace of mind with the assembly and tolerences, you and I both know Earl knows his **** when it comes to builds. Then if you pay for labor on the drop and tuning, If you are saving any money this way pick up a beater car with the rest.
roughly, 3000 (block)+1000 (drop)+800 (beater car)=
If you can get all the damn machine work on the Dart with assembly and drop for less than that I'd say go that route then.
My opinion on the Dart block for a street car is that is that its just alot more trouble than it's worth. But I tend to use as much oem stuff as possible and just go aftermarket on the weak links of the motor.
Seriously, Jordo just be patient man, it will all pay off in the end going either route, you really can't lose either way.

is this the same Vonte that has/used to have the black turbo ITR? Was from Louisianna (sp?). I knew him when he was stationed up at Fort Knox, KY. I know his ITR was a mean freakin car, then he has the GE block thrown in it, I would be afraid of a hatch that he might build.[/hijack]

With all the posts I see from you and all your give me your input posts, I would have figured you knew what you were buying. Your setup changes so much that it seems you are trying to buy the best of everything with out researching whether or not it will work together or over looking something. As far as your options now, Sack up the shipping costs, send it back and get him to fix it. Or contact earl and he will set you up with a complete block. Hell at 19, I was happy to have a car....much less a turbo ITR with a Dart motor.

you dont have to put a stroker crank in it,you could use a regular Honda crank. You just need longer rods, like a 1/2 longer (.552 I think?)
and the timing belt shouldnt be an issue cause gates, dayco etc make belts in all lengths.

jordo bought the block from me and i would like everyone to know that i never tried to scam him. i bought the block as a standard deck height and the wrong block was sent to me. i didnt know enough about blocks to tell a difference by looking at it. i only looked at it once or twice, and it sat in my garage for a month before i decided i wanted to sell all the motor stuff and put a down payment on an s2000. jordo saw the pictures and bought the block, yes i did tell him it was a standard deck height, but under the assumption that i had a standard deck height block. as far as not being able to be in touch with me, i was in hawaii for the past two weeks and just arrived back in town today. again, i never meant to decieve anyone, and im sorry there was a misunderstanding jordo, hope your motor comes out well. -bryan

I think you could probly build one bad *** turbo stroker motor, and all you would need is the new Crower crank and rods, or the C5 crank and some custom rods.
With the Crower package wouldn't you be running a 1.74:1 or something close rod/stroke ratio? Thats pretty good, ehhh?
But what ever you do good luck. I am lookin forward to seeing some new vid's...
