ATTN: anyone w/ d16z6 swap in a 4g civic
i need help!!!!! as we speak im tryin to get this car running. we put a d16z6 in a 89 civic lx(4-door). we cant get it to run. what do you do with the distributor? we tryed using the 4g dist, but the mounts arent the same, so we modified it, but it still wouldn't hold so we are gonna use the vtec dist. but you need to re-wire the plugs but i dont know how! the vtec dist. has 7 wires as the lx dist. has 5 wires!!!!!
does anybody know how to do this, i need to get this car runnin by tonite. any suggestions are welcome, i would really appriciate it. THANKS!!!!!

just curiousity everyone.....is the civic lx harness the same with the dx harness?? if it is this person can go to hybrid website and have him check out the conversion to DX to Si/ZC conversion. that way he can use his si distributor.
just wanted to add this also.....i did a swap D16Z6 on my 91 DX civic hatchback. trying to eliminate my last problem.....the bogging at 3k accelerating. (having a hard time reaching 6500 on the tach. i've checked and replaced everything that needed to be replace. i'm not getting any codes. as a list what i have replaced and checked.
resistor box (checked)
injectors (checked)
fuel filter (replaced)
spark plugs (replaced)
distributor assembly (replace cap and rotor)
O2 sensor
Timing (checked)
Air/Fuel mixture (checked....idles great)
last thing i'm going to do now is clean my throttle body.
wish me luck.

the d16z6 distributor will never work,it's pickup wheel inside it has more teeth,so its impossible to get it too work, you got only 2 choices, butcher the D16a distributor by elongating to holes and with washers only two bolts will hold it,the top and the front one..other choice and best choice is too get a D16Y8 head and then bolt D16a distributor too that because it has same exact bolt pattern
