Default Preview: My shifter kart...

I've got a week and a half to get it going (8 hour days), if I don't finish by then it will be parted out or set aside for a later completion date. I still have to mount the front of the motor, make controles for trottle/gas/brake... Then the task of trying to start the motor i've never heard run wich is going to be fun, since I know nothing about sport bikes.

Just figured out how i'm hooking up my brakes, depending on how late we stay monday/ tuesday this things getting done. The rest of my steering came in, and my new sprocket is coming from 3 hours away ups.

That looks like its going to be fun. Keep us updated. why are you giving yourself only a week and half deadline? Got to go back to work then or something?

A week and a half left of school, this is my project instead of a tube frame civic deal that fell through with one of my buddies (window bashed, rear lip stolen, wheels stolen, pretty much couldn't get it registered/insured/delivered to me)

Both cars in the shot are 2 doors, but both are caged. The bimmers cages is way better than the integras... I'll ask the owners if I can snap some pics and post em up. I'll try to get some shots of the cooler project in the shop. Tube frame talon and back halfed 77 vette...

Does anyone know where I can buy a chassis like this? I really want to build a shifterkart and know I can handle the mechanical part, but I do not have enough skill to build a chassis...

Looks good so far... I always wanted to build a golfcart with a motor setup like this and a decent stereo in it. Maybe one day...

Where did you get that printout of what the frame should look like to scale?

looks like whoevers out there doesn't want me to finish it, the past 3 days i've done nothing but mount my brake caliper and mount the motor... who knows it will be close... still gotta fab some pedals up and make em work... everything else shouldn't be to hard if the motor starts...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by .nate &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Does anyone know where I can buy a chassis like this? ebay sells used frames all the time... I'd buy a rolling chassis, like the other kart on here, and lengthen it... there was a rolling chassis that went for 256 then relisted because the buyer flaked... I was real close to buying it so I could put a regular motor on it...

I made it...
Find a over head view of a kart frame you want
If its not a bare frame erase everything
I put a 10" grid on it so I could keep it somewhat to scale when I printed it out
take your pic with your grid in the background to http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/
and size it to whatever scale you made your grids

I have the pdf of my frame and the pdf of a circle track kart frame if anyone wants it I could send it through aim or somthing....

to wyotech, what a scam... I hope I get lucky like you and get a cool job...

dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Kart has been disasembled... maybe it was ment to be, got my new sprocket in today and hooked up my chain, chain hit my shifter doohicky on the motor, after that I sat there for about half an hour then took it all apart in about 10 minutes. I pretty much gave up on finishing it before i go home, tomarrow will just be welding my seat base on, and welding some tabs for my belly pan. I'll probly have it done from a week to a month once I get it home, depending on how many hours i'll be working, or if i'll be working at all. Didn't take any recent pics with the steering mounted, i'll take a bare frame pic tomarrow, take pics of all my ****-ups so you know what not to do if you try to make one.

I wanna see him roll it, I wish that one kid woulda made the bug with a monster brake system up front with a outer cage so he could flip it foward.

didn't know much about the motor I put on, and know nothing about a snowmobile motor, I looked at some snow mobile motors but said srew it because it didnt look like a motor.
