Default completed my swap now im running rich

I just completed my swap in my 97 hatch. It seems to be running really rich, I can smell it out of the exhaust and I checked my plugs and they show to be running rich. There was a lot of black smoke when i initally started it but it went away, but i can smell it. I am not throwing any codes. My fuel pressure guage is showing it at 40psi at idle with the hose connected. I checked all of my vacuum connections they are on there tight and secured. Should i just get a VAFC and get it tuned to run normal. Could it be because I am using an old O2 sensor?

Here is the info on my swap
LS/VTEC
AEBS intake mani
P73 ECU
stock fuel injectors
B&M fuel regulator
Stock fuel pump
header with straight exhaust no cat.

black smoke when u first start up could mean alot of other problems

how does ur car run?
does it get good gass milege?
is the check engine lite on?
if u know how to use a muti-meter u can check ur o2.

You can always drop the fuel pressure 2psi or so.

How do you check an o2 sensor? I had this problem a while back. The Haynes manual said something about jacking up the car, run it a 2k rpm for 15 min then check voltage. I was like **** that.

chances are the O2 might be fouled out and it is giving a false input to the ECM. Also do you have a cat on your car.

two way u can do this

check it at the o2 or at the ecm

on the upstream o2(before cat)
probe into the white wire and to ground
voltage should varry form around .15-.7
but u have to keep the car rev up around 2k rpm 4 about a minute first.

no cat. header back to a muffler with a 12inch resonator. And Im using an old o2 sensor. But wouldn't it throw a code if my o2 sensor was bad?

I just threw a cel 45. I think i fouled out my primary o2 sensor on inital start-up. Im gonna swap it out with an extra o2 sensor i have to see if that helps out. I had this same exhaust set up with my old integra and i think thats what cut the life of this o2 sensor.

can u full throttle it?
will it run on part throttle?

Nah no other codes. I can run it full throttle but its kind of sluggish. I checked my fuel presure when i got home and it still reads 40psi so i am thinking its the o2 sensor.
