So far, the only"Si" in the dealer catalogues is a 2.0 EP3 w/no changes from '04.

That doesn't rule out something mid-year.

There is a K motor Civic sedan being sold in parts of the Far East, and the car recently won racing accolades there. Putting the K motors into other USDM Civics is certainly not out of the question, I guess.

 

..so there is no new si coming out...? i hope i want my coupe to be a collectable

Well, there are still rumours. But I think the rumours were a misunderstanding of the model rollout matrix that appears to call for a Civic redesign introduced in '05 but it's the '06 model year.

There might be a plan to have a 200 HP six speed in the Civic high line, whatever that ends up being, coupe or hatch.

There might also be a 220-250 HP K motor for the TSX for 2006, too.

 

AFAIK, the new civics for 06 will have the 2.0 motors. This is according to Vtec.net

I havent heard anything about the si hatch, but as far as honda uping the HP in the RSX-S, maybe that means that they could introduce the Civic-Type R with the old RSX-S motor (200hp). Its posiible remember the SI coupe vs The Integra GSR? I remember there were rumblings of the Type R coming over here to the states

 

no there is no "new" 05 si.. if you go to hondacars.com.. then you will see that the 05 si is the same as the 04.

 

Well from what i am hearing there is no si model for next year, its gonna be replaced with the new 05 crx. there will be to types one with 5 speed and one with 6 speed (w/ increase hp / tq). still the lightest car model ever since the first production.

 

^^ nope. sivaji is right, i work for honda. the 05 will be identical to the 04.

yup. '05 is same as '04. guess what? i think the honda fit will do better here(eventhough the federal government still has to deal with emissions, this'll be a cutdown version from japan). watch out for the honda fit, the Si replacement in 2006!
