will seafoam work on 87 crx?

Yes correct, but some of the effects can be pretty bad. Get a water bottle, turn it so its spraying the mist pattern. Have your friend old the engine at about 1,500 ( you can increase this but just make sure its not idling ) and spray the water in your engine, not a lot but about 2 sprays every now and then. What does water create when it becomes hot enough ? Steam, so your steam cleaning the inside of the engine.
