Check the manufacture recomendations. It's usually something like a bunch of miles easy driving.

Some don't have a wear in procedure so it really depends on what you bought.

I second that...if you can't find any recommendations from the manufacturer just take it easy for awhile.

why would you break in a clutch? its the same as trying to break in your brakes.. which doesn't happen.

When I got my Exedy stock deal from clutch city it was recomended 500 miles easy driving, no high rpms, no heavy load. Just go easy for a little bit.

Some of my friends say for 3 puck you don't need that long to break it in? So I am just curious as to the reason why.

Different materials in the disc. With act's higher end clutches they say you just need to make a few passes down the drag strip to burn off the initial film.

I just got a new exedy stage 1 clutch, and this is what it says - "Allow 750 mile break in and always adjust free travel on your new clutch at 750 miles and 1500 miles. Thereafter, adjust at every 10,000 miles."
what does it mean by "adjust free travel"?

From experince, my friend got a new clutch for his car and they told him take it easy for 500 miles to wear in, he went about 100 and didnt want to wait any longer and probably about 1500 miles down the road the clutch burned out and it didnt work at all.

I dont remember how hard he drived his car but i dont think it is worth it to pay $200-$500 or what ever more to buy a new clutch. So i would take it easy for at least 500 miles

I put an oem replacement exedy in my b16 and drove it hard from day one It was awesome that first week doing these loud 2nd gear scratches and wailing on it, then a week later it could scratch in 2nd anymore, it held fine but lost it's aggressive grab, that was depressing.
