Screwing around with my driveshaft I didn't realize I separated my inboard joint until I tried to put the lower ball joint together and the bolt is off by more than an inch. I've tried to push it back in place but it just won't go in.

Don't tell me I will have to pull the whole driveshaft, take off the boot and put it all back together .......please. Every little project turns into a huge project I wish someone were here that knows what they are doing and said "Don't pull on the driveshaft ya stupid idiot, your gonna separate the inboard joint, then your gonna have to take it out, pull it apart, put it back together, run to the store, by retaining clips for the diff, bands for the boot, blah, blah, blah.

Looks like my blue baby is gonna be sitting there for awhile. Sorry for the rant.

Any words of wisdom from the "broke the dam driveshaft on my launch" crowd? Do I have to replace the retaining clips? Or can I re-use them? Are they at Autozone or should I wait till Monday and get them @ the dealership? Help

 

Dont worry about the retaining clips, but yeah you'll have to pull the boot off
and put the joint back together.

I could have sworn i told u to pry one side and hammer the other.
