maybe a stupid question, but is the dash going back in the car, if so how?

judging by the 5th pic, it looks like the front portion of the stock dash would have to be notched out...perhaps a custom sheet aluminum dash is planned?

its a Spec Miata , stock dash must remain.

it went right back in with a little trimming , speedo cluster and all.

What's going on with the seat there with the section cut out? Moving it low and to the center? It won't be uncomfortable?

we removed the corner of the seat to justify it towards the center of the car , we gained 3" of movement and simply added a patch in , theres a pic of the finished product above the one you quoted.

we got the weight towards the center of the car and at the same time get the driver away from the door bars , both are very important in my opinion.

you cant tell the patch is there when you sit in it.
